Aeration Manifold / Aeration Grids
Get in Touch
Delivering air into an aeration tank is only effective if that air is distributed evenly across the treatment zone. Uneven distribution creates areas of oxygen deficiency within the tank where biological activity is reduced, undermining treatment performance despite adequate total airflow. Aeration manifolds and grids solve this by distributing air uniformly to diffusers across the full footprint of the tank.
The manifold system connects the blower output to a network of distribution pipes and headers positioned within the aeration tank. Air is delivered to each diffuser at a consistent pressure and flow rate, ensuring that the biological process is supported evenly throughout the reactor volume.
Manufactured from corrosion-resistant materials suited to continuous immersion in wastewater, aeration manifolds are built for long service life with minimal maintenance. The layout is designed to match the specific geometry of the tank, the number and type of diffusers, and the airflow rates required for the treatment process.
Proper manifold design also accounts for pressure drop across the distribution network. Poorly designed systems can result in uneven airflow between diffusers, with some receiving too much air and others too little. Careful sizing and layout avoids this and maximises the efficiency of the aeration system as a whole.
Used in activated sludge tanks, MBBR reactors, and equalisation basins, aeration manifolds and grids are supplied for new treatment plant installations and as part of aeration system upgrades at existing facilities across the UAE and KSA.
