pH Controller
Get in Touch
pH affects almost every aspect of water and wastewater treatment. It influences the effectiveness of coagulation and flocculation, the performance of biological treatment processes, the efficiency of membrane systems, and the quality of the final effluent. Keeping pH within the correct range is not just a process requirement but often a regulatory one, making reliable pH control essential at most treatment facilities.
pH controllers continuously measure the pH of the process stream and use that reading to automatically adjust the dosing of acid or alkali to bring pH back to the target value. This closed-loop control approach maintains pH stability without relying on manual intervention, which is important in processes where pH can shift quickly in response to changes in influent composition or flow rate.
The controller works in conjunction with a pH sensor installed in the process stream and a dosing pump supplying the pH correction chemical. When pH drifts outside the set range, the controller increases or decreases the dosing rate to correct it. Alarm outputs alert operators when pH moves beyond acceptable limits, prompting investigation of the cause.
Suitable for sewage treatment plants, effluent treatment plants, RO plants, cooling towers, and industrial process applications, pH controllers are used wherever maintaining a specific pH range is important to process performance or discharge compliance.
Calibration of the pH sensor is an important part of ongoing maintenance. Sensors require regular cleaning and periodic recalibration to maintain accuracy, and the controller should be checked to confirm it is responding correctly to sensor readings.
