Water Level Monitoring System

Get in Touch

Liquid level is one of the most basic but most important measurements in any water or wastewater treatment system. Tank levels, wet well levels, reservoir levels, and sump levels all need to be known and managed continuously to keep the treatment process running smoothly. Too high and there is a risk of overflow. Too low and pumps run dry, processes are interrupted, and equipment can be damaged.

Water level monitoring systems provide continuous, real-time level measurement using sensor technologies suited to the fluid, the tank dimensions, and the installation conditions. Ultrasonic sensors measure level by emitting a sound pulse and measuring the time it takes to return from the liquid surface, providing non-contact measurement that is suitable for most water and wastewater applications. Radar sensors operate on a similar principle but are better suited to conditions where vapour, dust, or surface turbulence would interfere with ultrasonic measurement.

Hydrostatic pressure sensors measure the pressure exerted by the liquid column above the sensor, providing a direct indication of liquid depth. These are simple, reliable, and well suited to wet wells and sumps where the sensor can be submerged at a fixed depth. Float-based switches provide high and low level alarm outputs in applications where continuous level measurement is not required and simple point detection is sufficient.

Level data is used to control pump operation, manage storage utilisation, trigger alarms for high and low level conditions, and provide input to process control systems. Integrating level monitoring with pump controls allows pump start and stop levels to be set precisely, optimising pumping cycles and protecting pumps from dry running.

These systems are used across water treatment plants, wastewater facilities, pumping stations, and industrial storage applications throughout the UAE and KSA.
