Storage is a fundamental requirement in almost every water and wastewater treatment system. Whether holding raw sewage before treatment, storing treated effluent for reuse, buffering process water supply, or containing treatment chemicals, tanks are a constant presence across treatment plant infrastructure. GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) tanks have become a widely used choice for these applications because of their combination of corrosion resistance, structural strength, and practical installation advantages.

The fiberglass-reinforced construction gives GRP tanks excellent resistance to the range of chemicals and environmental conditions encountered in wastewater treatment. Unlike steel, they do not rust. Unlike concrete, they do not crack or suffer from carbonation and reinforcement corrosion over time. This durability significantly reduces maintenance requirements over the life of the tank and supports reliable long-term performance.

GRP tanks are suitable for above-ground and underground installation. Underground configurations are used for equalisation tanks, inlet chambers, and other applications where the tank needs to sit below the process hydraulic grade line. Above-ground configurations are common for treated water storage, chemical storage, and process buffer tanks.

Their lightweight construction is a practical advantage on sites where access is restricted or where large crane lifts would be difficult. GRP tanks can be transported and installed in locations that would be challenging for heavier concrete or steel alternatives, and this can translate into lower civil and installation costs.

Available in a wide range of capacities and configurations, GRP tanks can be specified with the fittings, access points, and venting arrangements appropriate to each application. They are used across sewage treatment plants, effluent treatment plants, potable water systems, and industrial facilities throughout the UAE and KSA.
